I was using Norton Internet Security 2005 but after windows xp sp2 update and windows installer update, Norton was forcing me to reinstall the product because of its conflicts with windows installer’s new update. So I thought lets give chance to other and try other spam filters.
So I tried McAfee SpamKiller and Wooho! it was a big NightMare for me…. Its -100% Smart … Yeah I mean it … It not mark any mail as spam but even If i tell it to block this mail, It says rudely like This Mail Cannot be Blocked like the spammer given him much $$$ to not blocking his mail. So McAfee itself is not a smart but After guiding it, still it not work as we wish so its -100% smart.
So now I am back with my Norton … and Hope It wont push me in situation to reinstall it again and again.
So much disappointed with McAfee SpamKiller. This product can even down the impression of McAfee Virus Scanner. Does anybody else faced same problem?

I have the same problem with my Vista. Internet Explorer stops working apparantly because of Spam Killer….and yeah they are working on it. How do I disable this part of my security suite?
yeah i got windows vista as well and i have the same problem but for me my internet surfing time gets cut short when it tells me that there is an unexpected problem and it shuts down out of nowhere
mcafee is shutting down my explorer!!! what can i do??
I’ve been using McAfee Internet Security Suite for several years but within the past year I was getting error messages concerning the McAfee Spam Killer. Just this week it started preventing Windows Live Mail from starting via the msmail.dll error. At first I didn’t know it was McAfee causing the Live Mail problem. I searched out the error message from Live Mail on the web only to find that most people tried re-installing Live Mail but with limited success, I then decided to disable any software that connected with my Live Mail such as McAfee scanning my incoming and outgoing mail as well as the Spamkiller and I got my Live Mail up and working again. I them limited the McAfee to just scanning for viruses and let the Spamkiller disabled and the Live Mail program still works fine. My advice is until McAfee admits and fixes their problem with Spamkiller you should look for another spamming software.
Only hope is next update / patch from McAfee!
